A collection and some insight into the pens I use and love and a few of the dead ones as they pass their last drops of ink to paper from a pen junky.

The Shocker. Pilot Precise V5 RT
On a whim I bought a 4 pack of these at my local office supply store and thought I would try them out. I literally just threw them in the cart without blinking. Came home and ripped open the package and was VERY shocked at how much I liked this pen. I probably have reviewed this ink/roller combo in other pens, but never this body.
Mae West was 5'1"...my favorite pen today was a Parker 51. COINCIDENCE? yes it is.. If you are wondering where the point is...stop wondering...it's retractable. It was an added bonus on the pen. It writes well in the journals and after a few days, I still love this pen. The bonus is... pre-tax...this was around $1.12 a pen.
Some pens have many layers, (like an onion if I need to spell it out) There are a few pens that I have been trying to like for years, but my heart's not in it. These little clicky pens won me over from the start. For the price and the randomness of buying them, it was a pleasant surprise. Good pens.

These pens are great - one of my favorite non-gel ink pens for sure. I probably use them in my Moleskine more than any other pen.
I have to agree. This is one of the better pens I have used. Nr
My sister uses these pens and the Pilot precise begreens at her work all the time--she's as much of a pen-obssessed person as I am. I bought her a pack of the Pilot Precise Begreens here because in the small town where she lives with my parents, none of the stores carry them.
She gave me a Pilot Precise V5 RT and I tend to save it for special occaisions. The tip is a little scratchy for me.
I took the refill from a Precise V5 and put it into a Pilot Vball RT (also retractable). I prefer the needle point of the Precise but the Vball has a more appealing look to me. Though it is nothing great.
I do wish more of these cheap everyday pens that write so well also were available in more expensive "fine pen" versions. Nothing too expensive, just something that looked better in my shirt pocket.
The Pilot Precise V5 RT are the one of the best pens out there. When I found these, I never looked back. I use them at home, work, you name it. Definitely a top choice for those who have never used them before. Run to the store right now and buy a pack. :)
I did the same thing with the Precise V5 refill but instead put it in a G2 body. Nothing special, but seeing as how the Precise is about the same size as the G2 gel refill, it fits Waterman rollerball pens, of which I have a few, and they look pretty snazzy in my opinion. Still on the lookout for a retractable pen with panache...
Here, here! This is definitely a great product. I use this as my main note-taking pen in school. I have been good at not losing any of them, so I tend to run them completely dry. I have completely drained an untold number of these over the past few years. It's the best pen that I have found for comfortably writing copious notes.
Note about how I found this pen:
I was fixing someone's computer, and I randomly picked up this pen out of their desk to jot down some settings. Anyway, I finished the task and left the job sight. After I got home and saw the notes I had written, I remembered how much I liked the liked the way it felt and performed. I called the company and tracked down the girl. I got her to find the pen in her desk and tell me the brand and model. She laughed at my actions, but she was in agreement that it was a great pen.
They cost about $2 a piece in the local stores, but I feel they are worth it. I'm going to subscribe to your feed. Nice to know there are others who appreciate the little things in life. LOL. :-D
I also really like these pens. Use them almost exclusively for taking notes and every other kind of writing I need to do. A great price for a comfortable feel and smooth writing.
I know I'm a year late in commenting, but this pen revealed to me that I am in fact a pen freak. I remember all the neat pens that found their way on their own into my hand when I live in Japan- I just hadn't really thought about it when I moved back stateside.
I love that it's clicky, meaning I have about .035 seconds longer to extract it from my toddler's hand if he grabs it, and that it had a teeny wax ball protecting the nib in the box.
Now off to look into some of the other stuff you've mentioned. Obsessions work best when dealt with head-on, don't you agree?
Been using this pen a lot lately, LOVE IT! But I only have it in black, can't find it in blue yet.
This is absolutely the best pen. I think it's great.
