I love minor variations on pens. I picked up this Pilot V Corn (Corn? Really? they named a pen after corn?) and it's a dead ringer for the Pilot V Ball Extra fine except it has a plastic clip. I am sort of curious if this is a biodegradable pen or not.


OK, Der...I just Googled... yes, it's a bio pen. I only found it on the Japanese sight and translated.

It's a Good pen! I don't really feel like I am saving the world when I am writing with it, but I will give it some time just to be sure. It was cheap, I think under two bucks and I now have about 5 in my drawer so hopefully I will get to them soon!

Jetpens Rawks

I found Jetpens a few years ago when I was looking for refills for my Pentel Tradio's and have put quite a few orders in since then. When I heard they were offering pens for review, I fired off an email to Lily at Jetpens and she was awesome enough to send me a few pens. My first pen is the Uni-ball Signo DX UM-151 Gel Ink Pen - New Colors - 0.38 mm - Mandarin Orange The link will take you to the product page.

Jetpens says it best: Users can enjoy clean and even flowing lines, and the strong tips can withstand all the heavy handed writing you can offer. Like all our other pens, the Uniball Signo DX is highly sought after by artists and writers alike, but difficult to find in the US.

I usually am a black or Blue-black kind of user, but I have seriously been enjoying the orange. My notebook has some color to it now, and the pen is incredibly dependable. Ask it to write and it just flows. The .38 is the perfect tip for me and fine line work.  I could not be happier with it. It's a good pen and I am not just saying that.

Sheaffer Triumph's AKA "The Twins"

One clean and shiny, one...not so much.

The twins. Not my only set of twins, but I do love these. One is cleaned up and one I have yet to touch. They look like a dream but only one fills up. I was told they are not fun to work on, but as classic as they are, I may need to restore these to have the matching set. They look solid black in the photo's but, there is some clear and red striping outside of all the dried ink. It's amazing what a little Dremel action can do to clean up an old fountain pen.

I can't resist Sheaffer's when I see them for sale, I love the School pens and I am sure you will be seeing a ton of them here in the future.

Pilot G-3 Gel .38

I spent about 3 hours last night cleaning up some old fountain pens and re-inked 5 or so to get me through the week, then first thing this morning, I reached over for my new Pilot G-3. Remember my trip to Maido in San Jose the other week, I bought about 12 of these in this blue and black. I know it has a cap on it and most of you like to hear the little clicky clicky noises, but if you like fine tip gel pens, trust me, this pen rocks. And its resting on one of my sweet Moleskins, oh and speaking of paper products, The pen Addict opened a sister site about paper.,,,and he has another giveaway, doesn't he know we are in a recession, times are tough, stop giving all your stuff away, seriously. (or just make sure to swing some stuff my way every now and then.)

The Diplomat (Sir)

 

Click for a better view. There's a company called Diplomat that I don't think too many fountain pen users know about. German company and makes some great pens at very reasonable prices (Compared to most modern fp's) http://www.mydiplomatpen.com for more info. It does not look like they sell this model anymore, but I almost always have this pen inked and close by. It travels well, writes like a dream and super easy maintenance. It's a real workhorse, no skips, no bleeds, just fill it up (cartridge by the way) and it rocks. Some people use fountain pens as a status symbol and some people actually like to write with them. This pen makes you actually forget you are writing with a fountain pen.
